Who we are

Gay Fathers of Greater Boston was founded in 1982 with a membership of seven men. Today, we are a large network of gay men, most with children living with us or apart from us, and some partners of men with children. Some of us are divorced or separated, some still married, and some of us are in committed relationships with other men. Today the majority of our members have been married to women, though our group composition evolves with the changes in our society.

The mission of The Gay Fathers of Greater Boston, Inc. (GFGB) is to enhance the well-being of gay & bisexual men throughout the Greater Boston area who are fathers dealing with the issues of parenting, sexuality, divorce, and coming out by providing support, education and advocacy.

We're very proud to be one of the oldest organizations of this type in the country. Over the years, many hundreds of men have been helped by the peer support we offer each other.

GFGB is managed by a volunteer Board whose officers are elected annually. The organization is funded by membership dues, meeting contributions, event fees, and donations.

The Gay Fathers of Greater Boston, Inc is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Please consult your tax advisor regarding specific questions about charitable gifts.
